GSDC Mpls & St. Paul Upcoming Events
The German Shepherd Dog Club of Minneapolis and Saint Paul is committed to promoting the German Shepherd Dog and the future of the breed. The club does so in a variety of ways, beginning with socialization classes for young puppies, and training to all levels of obedience, rally, herding, conformation showing and therapy and service work.
As a regional club we support the German Shepherd Dog Club of America, and encourage exhibiting and participating in events at AKC recognized shows and matches given by other dog clubs.
We encourage and hold programs that educate and support the German shepherd dog owner, as well as start newcomers into the sport of dog show exhibiting, and performance trials. In addition, we promote the German Shepherd Dog through promotions, such as benching at the Minnesota State Fair, and holding our own specialty shows and matches.
As a large club, we have tremendous experience and resources for the German shepherd enthusiast to draw upon. Lastly, we are committed to the German Shepherd Dog for what he was created to be; a loyal companion and friend.
The German Shepherd Dog Club of Mpls & St. Paul meets on the second (2nd) Friday of every month at Animal Inn Training Center unless otherwise posted. Map & Directions
AKC Scent Work is a sport that mimics the task of working detection dogs to locate a scent and communicate to the handler that the scent has been found. Real-life detection dogs are trained to search for a variety of things–drugs, explosives, human remains, currency, other contraband, living humans (such as for Search and Rescue), and much more. AKC Scent Work takes this amazing working relationship and turns it into a fun game that any dog can play.
Ron Halling is pleased to announce his upcoming Monthly Socialization and Obedience Workshop.
Got an issue you'd like to work on, or just want to practice your current skills, and learn some new ones? Ron can help!At this workshop students will have fun training with ideas that they learn at the workshop and practice during the month. Your dog will be wagging it's tail as it learns to work with you as the pack leader guiding the team. This is a positive and confidence building training for your German Shepherd.
The purpose of these workshops is to introduce you to the other local German Shepherd owners in a relaxed environment while improving socialization/obedience skills and knowledge. Students of all levels are welcome.
GSDCA members, guests, fanciers, along with lovers of the German Shepherd Dog will gather at the National Specialty in Gray Summit, MO to honor and celebrate our great breed.
